Press Release TextRolando Anselmi is pleased to announce Luca Vitone and Johannes Wald’s duo exhibition at the Berlin gallery, conceived and created as a ‘window project’, an exhibition format visible from the street. In Luca Vitone’s works, "dust" becomes both a pictorial material and a metaphor, an agent of memory, time, and perception. Using dust collected from historically significant sites, the artist creates monochromes, watercolors, and installations that give form to the invisible. Dust, as the ultimate anti-pigment, carries the memory of places and lives, embodying collective histories and tragedies, and the very essence of the passage of time. Johannes Wald’s work is the result of the disassembly of a piece originally conceived as a unified whole, with each individual component now forming part of the stade du miroir series. Wald draws inspiration from Jacques Lacan’s theory on the development of identity: the moment when a child recognizes themselves in the reflection of the mirror for the first time. The artist crafts self-made mirrors from glass, various metals, or ancient silver coins, reflecting on his artistic journey and exploring the tensions between material form and conceptual inquiry. The act of making the mirror becomes a metaphor for the artist’s ongoing process of self-definition.
