In his work, Li Gang employs an eclectic palette of materials: from everyday objects to organic elements, from discarded materials to traditional tools—natural wood, transparent tape, asymmetrical stones, irregular measuring tapes, even ordinary pencils. These elements are reconfigured and transformed, dissolving the boundary between representation and abstraction, mimesis and alienation.
